GREEN BRAIN COMIC'S
24 HOUR COMICS CHALLENGE

On Saturday April 23 rd at 12 noon Green Brain Comics will host an international event that is as much a personal challenge as it is a community activity, creating a rich creative atmosphere for artists to share energy and camaraderie.
The challenge: to create a complete a comic book in 24 continuous hours. The original challenge is to finish 24 pages. Not a requirement, but it's possible... really.
An entry fee of $10.00 for each participant will be collected to help cover dinner, coffee and copies. All other materials and supplies are the entrant's responsibility.
This event is inspired by an invention from Scott McCloud - The 24 Hour Comic Challenge. Please refer to www.scottmccloud.com for more information and additional innovations from the man who can't stop thinking about comics. Each finished project may be eligible for inclusion in an anthology to be published by About Comics, publisher of 24 Hour Comics and organizer of this event. For more info: www.24hourcomics.com
The Basic Rules:
- The 24 hours run continuously. If you want an early start, Green Brain will be open at 10am the day of the event. Your start time will be recorded, you will have 24 hours from that time.
- Preparation can include the organizing of resources, tools, etc but can not include designs, sketches, story notes or plots
- All materials (paper, pencils, pens, etc.) must be supplied by the applicant.
- Entries should be 24 pages long. However this is not a requirement.
- There are no restrictions to format or materials used or how the final comic is presented.
- Artistic ability is not a necessity; all that is required is using pictures and/or words to tell a story.
- A copy of all entries must be made and on record at Green Brain Comics.
- Participants must have fun and create. Respect for the other participants is expected. Noncompliance will result in exclusion from this event.
